Cryolesion

Kriolezja

The neurodestructive procedure involves inserting a probe into the direct vicinity of the nerve and freezing its tip to a temperature of -60 to -80°C. This leads to the freezing of nerve cells, crystallization of their interior, and, during thawing, their rupture and damage.

As a result, nerve conduction is interrupted for several months. It is used in pain syndromes of the lumbar spine, sacroiliac joint pain, neuralgia, knee and hip pain, as an alternative to thermoablation, as well as in the treatment of neuromas and in cancerous diseases involving nerve involvement.
