Termolezja CRF (Continuous Radiofrequency)
This procedure involves the irreversible destruction of a nerve using high-frequency current, which raises the temperature to 85°C and leads to the destruction of cellular proteins.
In some pain syndromes, the underlying cause is incurable. Degenerative changes in the intervertebral joints are irreversible, but it is not the reduced range of motion that impairs the patient, but rather the pain. These joints are innervated by small sensory nerves. By destroying these nerves, we interrupt nerve conduction permanently, and despite the ongoing disease, the patient experiences less or no pain.
This procedure is used in cases of prolonged waiting periods for knee or hip joint replacement surgery, in sacroiliac joint pain, and in pain syndromes of the lumbar spine.
